  • The independent seed company is hosting its Open Days event from 11 to 13 February at its trial field in El Albujón, Murcia.
  • Tozer is once again collaborating with KWS Vegetables Group to organise the event.

For another year, Tozer will showcase its latest innovations in vegetable seeds across 8,000 m² of its trial field in Murcia. From 11 to 13 February, professional visitors will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of celery, chard, coriander, kale, leek, wild rocket, salad onions, and spinach. A total of 150 varieties will be on display, with this year’s highlights including new developments in kale and celery.

Four new green kale varieties, identified as TZ8279, TZ8276, and TZ8265, stand out for their productivity, colour, and yield. In addition, the TZ9533 celery—a dual-purpose innovation—is Tozer’s proposal for both the stick and pre-packed segments. “We are very proud of these innovations. On one hand, the improvements achieved in kale are truly remarkable. On the other, the versatility of our new TZ9533 celery is unmatched, something producers will undoubtedly appreciate,” says Manuel Hernández, Sales Manager for Spain and Portugal at Tozer.

Informative sessions and international perspective

In order to continue adding value for producers, Tozer and KWS will offer various informative sessions, open to all registered participants, during their Open Days. The presentation by Tozer will take place on Wednesday, February 12, at 11am and will focus on diseases in wild rocket. Dr. Jamie Claxton, Tozer’s Director of Research and Development, will lead the presentation.

Claxton’s participation is not the only significant presence from Tozer’s international network. In addition to the Spanish delegation, the event will also welcome teams from the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, USA and China. “This event is not only an opportunity to present innovations to our customers, but also a unique chance for knowledge and experience exchange between teams and customers from many countries. At Tozer, we firmly believe that strengthening relationships and maintaining a spirit of collaboration are key to successful work that enables us to face the industry’s common challenges,” says David Rogers, Commercial Director at Tozer.

Commitment to the spanish market

For Spain, Tozer continues to invest in the development of slow-bolting celery varieties that maintain the quality of Tozer’s current market leaders. “We are still working on new celery varieties specifically for the stick segment,” says Miguel Hernández, Sales Manager for Spain and Portugal at Tozer. “In addition, we are developing new rocket varieties, both for greenhouses and open fields, that are suited to our climate and meet our customers’ needs in terms of number of cuts and disease resistance. Maintaining a global approach is essential, but ultimately, solutions must be tailored to the specific needs of each market and each customer,” he adds.
