UK’s innovation agency, Innovate UK, has announced the shortlist for its prestigious Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) Awards 2024. After reviewing hundreds of applications with innovative projects, the judging panel of experts has revealed the three finalists for each category with Tozer being a nominee for the Best Technical Excellence Award. Winners will be presented in Birmingham on 27 November at a ceremony where finalists of all categories are invited to attend.

“Regardless of who wins in November, this is already a great achievement and a recognition of a really successful partnership between Tozer and Professor Katherine Denby at the University of York”, says Jamie Claxton, director of R&D at Tozer. “The Tozer team led by Dr. Viviana Rosati has done a fantastic work on speed breeding and gene editing of vegetable crops. Viviana has been a great KTP associate, and we’re delighted to have her now continuing her KTP work as an employee of Tozer”, he adds.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) are dynamic collaborations between the business and academic worlds to drive innovation. Their goal is to help companies to grow through their development and commercialisation of new products, processes and services, supported by an outstanding innovation ecosystem that is agile, inclusive and easy to navigate.

“When considering the goal of the KTP scheme, we can conclude that the outcome for Tozer has been excellent”, explains Claxton. “That’s why we look forward to continuing our work with Innovate UK in the future”.
