The versatility of chard as a baby leaf is that it brings colour and flavour to salads. While mature stems have an improved flavour, great texture and can be steamed or stir-fried. Our breeders are developing varieties with different coloured petioles. A full range of varieties and colours are now available.
  • Bright Lights

    Chard Bright Lights

    A multi-coloured, highly attractive Swiss chard. It contains a formula mix of hybrid and synthetic hybrid types. This is the original variety which has been reselected. Therefore it performs better and is more uniform in height. It is used for both baby leaf or bunching.
  • Rhubarb Chard Elite

    Elite has a rounder leaf than standard Rhubarb Chard with intense red veining. As with Intense, this variety has far fewer green 'off-types' than the standard. Mainly grown for baby leaf production. It is similar to Intense at the baby leaf stage but as it matures Elite has a slightly darker red leaf. Good upright habit and uniformity.
  • Rhubarb Chard Intense

    Rounder leaf than standard Rhubarb Chard with intense red veining. As with Elite this variety has far fewer green 'off-types' than the standard. Mainly grown for baby leaf production. Similar to Elite at baby leaf stage but as it matures Intense has a slightly lighter green leaf. Good upright habit and uniformity.
  • Fordhook Giant

    A classic swiss chard, Fordhook Giant has large white midribs and dark green leaves with great flavour. For spring and summer sowing.
