Tozer are continuing to develop new salad onion varieties. Our Allium cepa varieties; Eiffel, and Ramrod are market leaders. They offer growers consistent and reliable crops. We are also one of the few breeding companies to have developed a successful A. cepa x A. fistulosum variety.

  • Red Dawn

    This is an attractive and versatile red salad onion variety. It has a mild flavor, crisp texture and peels easily. Red Dawn has been developed with a vibrant colour to satisfy the market demand for a red salad onion. It is ideal for spring, summer and autumn production.

  • Eiffel

    A White Lisbon salad onion type but with distinctive stiff upright leaves which shed water very effectively. This makes Eiffel less susceptible to disease at difficult times of the season. It is slow to bulb, especially in the long days of summer, and will overwinter with careful crop husbandry.

  • Marksman

    Marksman has upright dark green foliage, excellent taste and peels very well. It is suitable for the spring/summer cropping period. But also ideal for autumn crops when disease can be a particular problem. Its vigorous root system helps to maintain the strong, upright leaves.

  • Ramrod

    PRODUCT SHEET
    A distinct Tozer salad onion which proves itself in the marketplace. It is very versatile, being used for both spring and autumn production. Ramrod is also winter hardy, making it a good variety for drilling in the autumn. Additionally, it can be used for producing larger, bolder type salad onions if overwintered and left to develop in the early spring.

  • Summer Island

    A Japanese salad onion selected by Tozer Seeds for summer and autumn production. Summer Island has a sweet flavour and lower pungency giving it more consumer appeal. It is a good green colour and has a very upright habit.
